POEM: I Can See You

I Can See You

by

Alun Buffry

October 2021

I can see your shadow in the sun.
I can see you, since time itself began.
I can see you on that empty chair.
I know you’re always there.

You may have passed from my direct sight.
You may have travelled to that divinest light.
Yet I see you rustling in the trees.
Yet I see you in the buzzing bees.

You went before me, travelled on.
Yet I hear you in every loving song.
I never thought so soon you'd go.
You never went, I truly know.

I can see you in my mind.
In my heart it's you I find.
My time will come, I'll see you there.
And peace and bliss I know we'll share.

SMILE: Positivity

The state of the world, especially after the problems with Covid, restrictions, lockdown, the negative stuff we are bombarded with by the media and lack of confidence in the authorities, is causing unbearable stress and worry for so many people.

How do we cope? What is the solution?

What can be done to help us cope? Booze, drugs, violence, tears?

One thing that I have learned is that our subconscious minds which absorb everything we are told, controls us and our moods and actions far more than most people realise. But most of us have little or no idea what is in there.

Our subconscious mind, however, is incapable to separating sense from nonsense, reality from illusion, good from bad. It is like a blackboard or computer that simply stores what is written on it. Yet is determines not just our conscious minds and decisions, but our dreams and nightmares.

THERE IS A SOLUTION!

We hear about being positive, but how? It is actually very simple. We need to overwrite the bad stuff stored in our subconscious minds and reinforce the positive - through simple repetition - like writing 100 lines at school, although that may not have always worked as they were forced upon us. Here is the technique.

Decide what you want to do, what you want to achieve, how you want to feel, in your life. It can be anything from wanting people to like you, getting more exercise, drinking or eating less, to simply feeling good or that EVERYTHING IS GOOD.

Then we step PAST what we want and CONGRATULATE ourselves for having achieved it already. We REPEAT OUT LOUD, 3 times, 3 times daily (before sleep is a good time to do it too)

For example: I AM GLAD EVERYTHING IS OK, I AM GLAD EVERYTHING IS OK, I AM GLAD EVERYTHING IS OK Or whatever it is

NOTE: NOT "I want" ... or I" wish... " but "I AM GLAD that ... " has already happened. AND IT WORKS.

A simple thing to try, even though I have found that some people resist it or say they don't believe it will work or that it's simply not true.

As I said, the subconscious does not know what is true or what is not true, like the blackboard, but what is written on it will make so much difference to ones life - believe me, try it!

 POSITIVITY (2015)

by Alun Buffry

Always to be found in this the same place,
Throughout our universe of time and space,
On I will travel, at my own pace,
Can you now see it, in my face?

Never to question how or why,
Upon this earth I find I,
Content and amazed beneath earth's sky,
Yet soaring above white clouds on high.

Hidden within us there is a clue.
It looks like I, it looks like you
For once we were one and that is true,
Now one of so many amongst quite a few.

There is a Love, there is a Light,
Forget any guilt, ignore any fright,
Focus within on a wondrous sight,
The future is now and it's ever so Bright.

DON'T LET ME TELL YOU WHAT TO DO

DON'T LET ME TELL YOU WHAT TO DO

by Alun Buffry

I don't need no New Year's resolutions.
They gave me no solutions
To problems that I'd thought I'd had,
As life was good and seldom bad.

I gave up giving up,
If I want a drink a glass I'll sup.
If I want to toke, I'll have a puff
And easy stop when I've had enough.

I know we're just not all the same,
Not in body, mind or name,
But if your life you want to change,
Just make no promises, avoid in shame.

Take control of your own life,
Don't blame the husband or the wife,
Realise that inside you should feel strong
There is no Right, there is no wrong.

There be no guilt as there is no blame,
There is no guilt, should be no shame,
We've all be told what we should do,
By those that don't really know the real you.

Don’t wait for revolution.
Don’t sink in convolution.
The answer’s in the question’s seen.
So I say don’t listen to me

Don't let me tell you how to be.
Live your life for you are free,
To choose to say, to think, to do,
And day by day you will get through.

Governmental Controls Can Be Mental

Every Government in the world, every ruler, king, Pharaoh etc, has been about control, rules and laws, sometimes one rule for the elite and one rule for the others, but even the elite have needed controlling in order for those governments with their various levels of tyranny, to work. Even Human Rights laws have been imposed upon us, in the name of limiting unjust laws and tyranny, but still we are all subject to controls, usually said to be in the public interest or health, hygiene, safety - we accept things like wearing seat belts, where we can park our cars, buying TV licenses, not possessing certain substances, paying out taxes - now they have stretched here as previously in other regimes, to banning mass gatherings, public protests and lockdowns.

We accept the need for a passport if we want to go abroad - and strangely that the passport asks that citizens be allowed to pass unhindered but we are still subjected to searches of bags and person, questions, need for visas.

Make no mistake, government control is not new - and to me it seems obvious that with population crisis, environmental crisis, let alone viruses, most governments will wish to impose more controls on us to protect themselves and the wealthy. The Ten Commandments has become the ten thousand commandments - they rule by divide and conquer, alienation from our fellow human beings, greed, ignorance and fear.

BUT we are human and we are here to enjoy our lives as best we can - so we don't want to be sent to prison and each ha to decide which rules that we see as justifiable and will obey, and which not and whether or not we will risk what freedom we have left.

I am not one to tell others what to do or be told what to do, although I will listen to advice and do expect people in my house to behave in a certain way or leave.

Brit jailed for 25 years in Dubai after police find tiny cannabis oil bottles in car

Tuesday 12 Oct 2021

A former semi-pro footballer has been jailed for 25 years in Dubai for drug trafficking after police found four small bottles of harmless cannabis oil he claimed were left in his car by a friend.

Billy Hood, who works as a football coach in the United Arab Emirates, said he was forced to confess to a false statement written in Arabic by heavy-handed detectives.

The 24-year-old from Kensington, west London, said he did not know the bottles of CBD oil and a vape pen were left in his company vehicle after giving a friend from London a lift to the airport two weeks before his arrest.

He was with another friend at his apartment on January 31 when Dubai police pointed a Taser in his face as he went to his car to retrieve a phone charger.

The officers handcuffed Mr Hood and allegedly threatened to electrocute him if he refused to cooperate, then demanded to see the drugs, but Mr Hood claims he no idea what they were talking about.

Mr Hood, who describes himself as an anti-drugs fitness fanatic, thought they had the wrong man and volunteered his property and body to be searched.

The officers told Mr Hood they were interested in him due to social media, but never asked for his phone or computer, his legal team said.

Police found a few thousand pounds in cash in his apartment that his new employer paid him in cash while his bank account was being set up, Mr Hood said.

This was confirmed by his bosses and written in his contract, lawyers acting for Mr Hood said.

Officers also arrested Mr Hood's friend when they discovered him in the apartment.

Mr Hood allowed police to search his company car and gave a urine sample as he believed he had nothing to hide.

Using CBD oil in a vape is legal in Britain and is often used to relieve pain, anxiety and stress, but as it still has traces of THC - the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis - Mr Hood was detained under the UAE’s strict drug laws

He was reportedly transferred to Al Barsha police station and kept in an isolation cell for 14 days without any contact with the outside world.

Mr Hood has now been prosecuted and sentenced for 25 years for trafficking, supplying and possession and has been held at the police station for nine months.

After initially refusing to sign a confession at the behest investigating CID when he was taken to a holding cell, Mr Hood eventually gave in after four days of pressure

Mr Hood, who used to play for semi-pro Kensington and Ealing Borough FC, said he told police when he was asked about the bottles: “To my knowledge, it is normal vape oil.

When he first refused to sign the document and asked for an English translation, the head officer laughed and told him, “if you do not sign, you will never leave CID,” his legal team said.

Officers tested the urine sample and it came back negative, but after four days of being detained Mr Hood agreed to sign the statement without knowing what it said.

In a statement to his lawyers, Detained in Dubai, Mr Hood said: “I had just moved to a new home in Dubai and a friend of mine came around to see my new place.

“I ordered a food delivery then went to my car to get a second phone charger for him to use when I was suddenly approached by police.

“They jumped out to arrest me, handcuffed me. One officer jumped out and pointed a Taser at me, threatening to use it if I didn’t cooperate.

They demanded I show them where the drugs are. I was shocked, scared and confused.

“I told them I wasn’t aware or in possession of any drugs or substances. They wanted to search my car then my apartment and found nothing.

"The next evening, I was taken to Al Barsha police station and kept in an isolation cell for 14 days without any hygiene products. I had no contact with the outside world.”

The sportsman could not believe he was being accused of something he is "wholeheartedly against", adding: “I do not smoke vape pens, cigarettes or even shisha.

“I coach football six to seven days a week. I am always working with kids and in schools all over Dubai.

"From age 16, I played football at a professional level for more than two years. I have always had a zero tolerance on any drugs or illegal substances.

“For me to be accused of promoting and selling drugs in a country that has the same beliefs and values as me is very upsetting as it affects my future.

“One of the main reasons I moved to the UAE was to pursue my coaching career. I have spent six-plus years collecting my coaching badges and would never let something such as drugs ruin everything.”

Breda, Mr Hood's mother, described the trauma the family have suffered over the last nine months and begged Sheikh Mohammed, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE, to intervene in the case.

The 55-year-old teaching assistant said: “If he doesn’t win his appeal, we will never be the same. We will have lost our beloved Billy.

“I have hidden myself away, crying and crying when I imagine what our sweet boy is going through.

“It is the worst stress I've ever been through and I feel helpless. He's always been such a good boy and has never been troublesome.

“He helps out children, coaches and volunteers. He's never been into drugs, ever. It is impossible that he is guilty of the allegations against him.

“Please investigate this case, Sheikh Mohammed. My son does not deserve to lose his whole life over CBD oil that wasn't even his.

“The FCO [British foreign office] has done nothing to help us. We are so disappointed. After learning of the other cases where people have been set up by police or falsely accused of a crime, I can't believe the British government has not put this in their travel warnings.

“Would people still go to Dubai if they knew they could lose their freedom even though they've followed the law?

“I know my son wouldn't have. The FCDO [Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office] needs to tell British citizens and give them the information to decide whether to take the risk or not.”

Billy’s brother, Alexander, has set up a GoFundMe page in a bid to raise money for his legal fees and has so far raised just over £11,000.

Ear Wax Removal outrage

In the UK, the NHS used to provide a "free" ear shringing service at the doctors surgery; they stopped this so now one has to go a private service to have them vaccuum cleaned at a cost of £85 to £110

Tolerance of cannabis is growing just as scientists show that it can cause insanity

As long ago as 1896 these claims were made about inmates of mental hospitals in India that used cannabis - the first UK Royal Commission, the Indian Hemp Drugs commission looked into those claims and concluded that cannabis actually helped many and also that the mental health problems often led people to use cannabis to find relief, and cannabis was legal there in those days. There have been numerous other studies into cannabis and mental health and although there is some evidence that a small number of people with mental health problems get worse through uncontrolled consumption of cannabis with high THC and low CBD content, on the whole the reports failed to prove any detrimental effect to the vast majority of consumers.

In addition I would emphasize that even in cases where it may be true, that is no reason to punish either those people or those that benefit from cannabis consumption - it is a matter of health and should not be a mater of law. The criminalisation of millions of people that have done no harm cannot be justified because a minority may have suffered ill effects; otherwise alcohol would have been banned from non-medicinal production or supply many years ago, including home brewing.
