Black Lives Matter, Street demonstrations and the Second Covid19 Wave

At the end of the first world war, there was a nasty killer virus spreading; people went out in the streets in large numbers to celebrate the end of the war; it caused a second wave of virus infections and more people died than during the war.

In 2020, we have Covid19, which has killed between 40,000 and 60,000 people in the UK alone. Now the Government is (in my opinion, jumping the gun) easing the restrictions on social contact.

So now, as well as crowds gathering in places such as beaches, we are seeing mass demonstrations on the streets in agreement with the demonstrations in the USA about police murdering and mistreating black people: many people think they are safe if they wear a mask - they are not.

Will we now see the dreaded second wave of Covid19 infections and many more deaths?

  1. I don't blame anyone demonstrating in solidarity on racial issues on discrimination. ,,, it's such an old problem that needs addressing through respect and education. We should all respect each other like ourselves.

    1. Neither do I, it is an extremely important issue - but I worry that the demonstration will spread the virus and kill more vulnerable people.

    1. I am not sure that any lives matter much to the type of tyrants we have running the US and UK and their way of handling the virus crisis has shown that - the virus has killed off so many aged and informed people - and the extra babies born in the coming 12 months wil give them a new generation of economic slaves.
